Kirk Hammett Brand Partnership and Activation
In 2019, I secured my first-ever celebrity partnership deal with legendary Metallica guitarist and horror enthusiast Kirk Hammett, marking a foundational moment in my career. I managed every aspect of the collaboration, from pitching and product development to talent logistics and live appearance planning for Funko Fundays at San Diego Comic-Con. The partnership included the release of exclusive Kirk Hammett Funko Pop! figures tied to his It’s Alive! horror memorabilia exhibit at the ROM Museum in Ontario, Canada.
Since that first activation, I’ve had the privilege of working with Kirk on multiple culturally resonant projects, solidifying a trusted relationship over the years. Highlights include his guest appearance on Pop! Talk, a custom video shoutout for Funko’s 25 for 25 anniversary campaign, and the official unboxing of Metallica’s Black Album Funko Pop! collection. Each campaign leveraged Kirk’s legacy status and genre credibility to connect music, fandom, and collectibles in fresh, fan-first ways, cementing his ongoing value as a cross-generational brand partner.
